Module 005: Product and Inventory Management
Product Control Panel
- AccessFrom the left side menu, expand the Catalog section and select Products.
- Display OptionsIn the upper right corner you can toggle the view between Card format (with preview image) or List (text table).
- FiltersIt features a Filter button to segment the search for existing products by brand, category, supplier, and status.
5.1 Manual Creation of a New Product
To begin uploading an item from scratch, click the + Create Product button. The system will open a blank canvas with the following initial conditions:
ℹ️ INITIAL STATE | The product starts completely deactivated and invisible in the e-commerce (Active and Visible boxes unchecked) until its configuration is complete. |
General Information
- Product Name: enter the internal product name.
- TitleDefine the commercial title that the end user will see.
- Product Reference Code: Enter the general product reference code (this can be an internal identifier or one assigned by the manufacturer).
- Release DateSelect the date on the calendar. By default, it will be set to the current day the product was created.
💡 AUTOMATIC | When you type the title, PIM automatically generates the product's slug or clean URL for e-commerce. |
5.2 SKU Information (Variants)
A product can have one or multiple variants (SKU) sharing the same general data sheet (e.g., variations in color, size, or technical specifications).
- New SKU InformationActivate the switch to enable the new variant form. By default, the "Active" box will be selected for the new SKU.
- SKU Name: Enter the specific variant name (e.g., "Example Product - Pink Color").
- SKU Reference Code: assign the specific reference code for this inventory variant.
- Manufacturer Code: code given directly by the factory or manufacturer.
- EAN / UPCCapture the commercial barcode. This field is essential for the logistical linking and reading of the product.
- Estimated Date Arrival: Define the estimated date on which this inventory will physically arrive or be available for delivery.
5.3 Logistics and Dimensions
The PIM requires accurate physical information of both the individual item and its shipping packaging for the calculation of shipping costs.
Product Dimensions
Actual dimensions of the net item (e.g., a tablet or a laptop):

Package Dimensions

📊 UNIT MULTIPLIER | If you need to record the weight in grams instead of kilograms, enter the base value in the Weight field, enter 1000 in the Multiplier field, and select the unit g (Grams). The system will automatically calculate the conversion: Value × 1000. |
Inventory Management (Warehouses)
- Go to the Warehouses tab: within the product form.
- Locate the corresponding warehouse: ej. Warehouse 134578x.
- Enter the number of physical units available for sale: no. 1200.
5.4 SEO and Advanced Descriptions
Pestaña: Product Additional Information
Loolu PIM allows you to enrich the product content through two editing modes: Plain Text or Active HTML Editor.
- Description & Short Description: Write the product specifications in plain text or activate the HTML editor to enrich the design (bold, italics, line breaks or custom structures for the web).
- Metatag DescriptionWrite a short and direct description designed exclusively for search engines (Google, Bing, etc.).
- KeywordsAdd keywords separated by commas. These tags allow the e-commerce site's internal search engine to locate the product, even if the user types terms or synonyms that are not explicitly written in the long description.
Image Loading and Optimization
- Click the Add Images button— in the multimedia section of the product.
- Upload the files— drag the files into the window or select them from your computer's file explorer.
- Optimize the SEO of each image— Click Edit on the uploaded image to open its metadata properties:
- Label: assign an identification label (e.g., Front Collar, Side View Truck).
- Text (Alt text)Write a detailed descriptive text to optimize indexing in image search engines (e.g., "Pink fabric dog collar with plastic accessory").
- Order the images— Dragging them with the icon in the upper right corner allows you to set the priority. The image in the first position automatically becomes the main product cover in the store.
- Click on Save— in the image container to confirm the changes.
5.5 Linkage to Commercial Policies, Suppliers and Multimarket
Assignment of Base Entities and E-commerce ID
Within the main product information tab, fill in the required selectors (they support predictive search by typing the text or by scrolling):
- Brand: Link the corresponding trademark.
- Category: assign the hierarchical category of the catalog.
- Vendor (Supplier)Define which global vendor supplies the item.
- E-commerce ID: identifier that stipulates the product's publication destination.
Commercial Policies and Prices
- Trade PoliciesSelect the applicable business rules (e.g., Default, Fulfillment). These policies are inherited from the general PIM configuration.
- Commercial Condition: establish the sales conditions (e.g., Interest-free installments, Special Promotion).
- Pricing SettingsGo to the Pricing tab and define the following values according to the selected commercial policy:
- Price: base list price of the item.
- Discount Price: final retail price after applying the discount.
Advanced Function: Multi-Merchant Creation
If your catalog operates in different countries or channels simultaneously (e.g., Mexico, USA, Colombia, etc.), you can optimize bulk uploads from the product creation form:
ADVANCED FUNCTION | Multimarket creation allows you to register a product in multiple channels simultaneously, mapping the specific data of each region on a single screen. |
- Select the Merchants— At the top of the creation form, click on the icons for the channels where you want to publish the product.
- Configure the Update multiple merchants panel— When activating multiple markets, a drop-down menu (Drawer) will appear with the parameters for each region:
- Mark: assign the corresponding brand to each country (e.g., in Mexico it may be called 3MM, while in the USA it is registered as 3M).
- Category: select the specific category for each region.
- Trade Policy: assign the applicable business policy to each channel.
- Commercial Condition: defines the sales conditions by market.
- Close the Drawer— once the mapping of all active regions is complete.
- Click on Save— The PIM will execute a loading process by indexing product data, images, and price lists in parallel across all selected channels.
